In the autumn of 1985, a storm rocks a Mediterranean town, leaving devastation and a dead whale on the beach. Corbac, a misanthropic wine grower, decides to save the cetacean skeleton from a health threat. His daughter Mathilde watches her father's epic fight against the disease and the resistance of the villagers. The story unfolds between the dark energy of the village and the celestial energy of the sea, exploring Corbac and Mathilde's connection to life and sadness at its decline. After Corbac's death, the plot persists, with Mathilde leading the transformation of the whale into a common project, symbolizing continuity and hope on a new horizon, highlighting the role of women in the narrative.
