Lea Grand is a Swiss actress living in Madrid, refusing foreign roles and accepting precarious jobs, such as simulating sick patients in medical exams or handing over tourist flats to foreigners. About to premiere a play about Saint Theresa in the style of German cabaret, she receives a peculiar commission from the Grand Théâtre of Basel to commemorate its bicentenary. The meeting with the actors on staff and the return to her hometown confronts her with her identity, helping her to find her way of being an actress in a country she was not born in and to which she will soon return.
