After months of non stop rains, a small village in Sinaloa, Mexico becomes an isolated island. After the disappearance of one of its inhabitants; a rumour begins that anyone who attempts to leave the island will be killed by the drug cartel. The villagers subsist on dried mangos, and the youngest ones are sent to work in the remaining mango factory on the island. The narrator falls in love with one of the workers who is desperate to leave the island, notwithstanding the danger. An intimate and hypnotic journey into the life of a town forced to find freedom in confinement.
