At the age of 38, Raquel García-Tomás, a young, working-class woman from the Besòs neighbourhood of Barcelona, has become the second woman composer in history to present an opera in the auditorium of the emblematic Gran Teatre del Liceu. Moreover, she does so by recovering the memoirs of Alexina B., the first person in history to be recognised as intersex. The documentary tells Raquel's personal success story. Like Alexina herself, she manages to do her bit in the social transformation to overcome inequalities based on sex and gender. An invisible thread that links the struggles for equality from the 19th century to the present day.
