In 1960 Joan Perucho published Natural History, a vampire novel set in the Battle of the Ebro. Through fantasy and humour, he exorcised the unhappiness he carried inside. Blood and tomato soup. Joan Perucho's Ghosts, is a reflection around the relationships between history and fantasy, war and horror literature. In the form of a documentary road movie, driving his beloved Renault Dauphine – the first car he had – Perucho crosses a large part of Catalonia: Banyoles and the Darder Museum, La Granadella on the Segre front and Gandesa, scene of the Battle of the Ebro.
