After serving 10 years in prison, Noa, a 48-year-old transgender gypsy woman, is fighting to regain custody of her 11-year-old children, who are living in a state-run facility. The system requires her to find a home, but due to lack of resources, Noa occupies an apartment from which she is about to be evicted. Her cousin Mary Karmen, an intersex gypsy squatter activist is her faithful squire, as well as other friends living on the fringes: Nani, a drug addict and pickpocket, and Luana, a homeless Portuguese singer. Solidarity and sisterhood among all of them, sprinkled with a lot of art and surprisingly good humour, push them to survive their harsh realities.
