CAPTAIN is a documentary that narrates the last voyage of Efrén Otálora, former Captain of the Grancolombiana Merchant Fleet. His daughter, Laura Otálora, suggests making a film of his life. A film where he plays himself, and where, ultimately, the cinematographic process serves both of them to enter the depths of the past, memory and ephemeral memories, as Efrén, for some years now, has had Alzheimer's disease. This journey leads them to embrace loss, emptiness and death with compassion and dignity, this being their imminent farewell. CAPTAIN is an artefact that honours the impermanence of life.
